Launch meeting: summary, slides

Thanks to everybody who attended our launch event/Q&A on Wednesday evening, online via Zoom. We were delighted to see so many West District clubs represented on the call, and a great conversation was had.

For anybody who missed the presentation, please find the presentation slide deck attached.

We’re delighted to confirm that the league’s first event will indeed be on the 19th November following receipt of permits. It will be taking place in Strathaven, and hosted by East Kilbride Athletics Club.

Next steps

The League working group is meeting in the next week to confirm a few final details (some of which came up during the Q&A), including club number allocation and event day format/schedule.

We aim to post updates on the website shortly before the end of October of the following:

  • Race day schedule and race format, including
    • Event #1 details, course map, travel directions
    • post-event submission requirements
  • Club number allocations for affiliated West District clubs
  • Details on athlete eligibility to take part
  • Volunteer appeal
  • Note to clubs on season schedule:
    • review/decision making process at the end of the season
    • financial notes (ie. how costs work, and how they will be calculated/charged to clubs)
